The 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend kicked off Friday with the celebrity game and Rising Stars Challenge.
Last year’s 3-point contest and skills challenge winner Karl-Anthony Towns retired from All-Star on Saturday so we will not see him defend his titles, but 2020 3-point contest winner Buddy Hield looks to add another trophy to his collection. Team captain Giannis Antetokounmpo will once again team up with his brothers — Thanasis and Alex — in the skills challenge. Meanwhile, Mac McClung, who won a high school dunk contest in 2018, is on the hunt to win at the NBA level. The second-ever NBA HBCU Classic game between Grambling State and Southern was also featured in Saturday’s action.
